| Judy Epstein, Holistic Healer Allow me to introduce myself and my journey in becoming a holistic wellness practitioner and healer. Growing up in a family of healthcare providers, I seemed destined to be a healer. Early on I witnessed differing approaches to healing by having a father who was a surgeon and an older brother who became a chiropractor. Intuitively I knew both of these healing approaches could be combined to create a synergistic healing philosophy which I now apply in my private practice. In pursuing my path, I graduated from the University of Arizona's College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1980 and worked as a rehabilitation nurse. I recognized my role as a rehab nurse emphasized wellness. By working with patients who had debilitating setbacks, I taught them to reclaim their lives and regain their independence through whatever modifications were needed. While continuing my employment as a rehab nurse, I began to explore alternative healing practices which led to my certification as a Touch for Health Instructor and a Licensed Massage Therapist. In 1985, I began my private practice as a Nurse Massage Therapist, synergistically combining what was considered conventional medical training with alternative healing. This synthesis fostered a new nursing specialty and promoted a reputable shift in healthcare toward more holistic and alternative healing practices. Continuing with training in various healing modalities throughout my years in practice, I have earned several certifications including Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner and a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, St. John's Method, all of which assist me to be an effective bodyworker and healer. Furthermore, I have developed an understanding of and a working relationship with energy in healing. I've learned how to recognize when energy becomes blocked and how to foster its healthy return. I've witnessed how energy can stagnate when a person is not living harmoniously within themselves and how this ultimately may lead to discomfort and/or disease. Recognizing that this occurs too often, I've expanded my role as a healer by becoming a Life Enrichment Coach. As a Life Enrichment Coach, I approach healing and wellness as a way of life and thus facilitate energy flow throughout one's life to promote whole-being vitality and productivity. Clients enrich the quality of their lives through identifying and achieving meaningful and rewarding life goals. By design, they become conscious of mastering the healing energies of life, thus creating and living the life they so desire. My intent as a Nurse Massage Therapist, Neuromuscular Therapist, Healing Touch Practitioner and Life Enrichment Coach is to help clients reach their greatest potential, and learn what they can do on their own, such as using my customized Strap-On Cool Packs. In this way, I am a holistic wellness practitioner. With their active participation, I strive to effectively relieve pain and promote healing and wellness in the physical, mental, energetic and spiritual realms.
